Agnieszka Rzepka - Lublin University of Technology
I'm a Professor at LUT, Faculty of Management. I'm author of 135 papers, including 7 proprietary and collective monographs such as Inter-organizational relations and intellectual capital as factors for the development of micro and small enterprises
Interdependence of intellectual capital and interorganizational relations in empirical research on the era of globalization.
The globalization processes have sparked an increased interest among scholars in the role of intellectual capital in building brand identity and brand positioning in the market. The relationships found in the modern global economy are based particularly on resources such as the organization’s manager and employee knowledge. A modern economy and its network of connections also relies immensely on the mutual interactions between independent entities and the relationships they create. In today's economic reality, all businesses continuously look for measures and instruments that would allow them to prosper successfully. The key to success comes in the form of intellectual capital. This intangible value of any business develops along interorganizational relations and the two are currently considered to be one of the key trends in enterprise development.

Circular economy – a solution for unsustainable path?
Circular economy represents a trending concept among more environmentally oriented people in recent years. As societies are becoming richer and people are becoming more interested in “luxury” goods such as clean environment, more individuals and subsequently institutions and even countries are taking part in pursing this “CE” idea. But what does circular economy mean? How is it related to economy and consumption? What is the role of waste management and individual behavior in this concept? And how can we achieve 100% circularity? Lecture will provide you with a brief overview of the topic and shed some light on certain aspects that are often omitted in public debate regarding circular economy.

Finance of a changing world
European financial integration and the recent economic and financial crisis raise new questions, whether in the area of financial regulation or monetary policy. The proliferation of the digital money has also transformed the monetary field with the creation of new means of payment and the appearance of new currencies.
New concepts emerge in a context of increasing monetary circulation within a globalized world without any real regulatory harmonization. While virtual portfolios or contactless payment technologies can create alternatives to traditional payment methods, new "digital currencies," such as bitcoin, are presented as an "alternative" to the traditional currency system. In addition, the desire to respond to needs not or insufficiently secured by the official currency, particularly to promote local links and exchanges, can find answers in complementary currencies.
These essential elements should lead to think about new currencies, new means of payment and to establish accordingly the proportions, opportunities and risks.

The time value of money
The first basic principal of finance is that a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow, because the dollar today can be invested to start earning interest immediately. Financial managers refer to this as the time value of money.
After studying the time value of money, students will be able to understand the relationship between present and future value, how to use the interest rate in order to adjust the value of cash flows to a single point in time, to calculate the future and the present value, to use interest factor tables, to build an amortization schedule for a loan.

The new world order – Europe's challenges towards regional security and stability
Diplomacy is being redefined as I’m writing these lines by unprecedented threats and prospects. Ukrainian invasion, the Covid-19 crisis and the new digital era are just three pillars, factors to trigger long term changes, reshaping the vision on how the world will look in 2030. Such changes, tied with current geopolitical trends, are illustrating the necessity for a new regional statecraft that advances, more than ever, the need for trust, inclusion, and awareness.

Pricing behavior of firms from vantage point of behavioral macroeconomics
As Nobel Prize winner Richard Thaler stated, Behavioral Macroeconomics is white field in economics, which is still waiting for its exploration. This discipline with its integration of psychology of human decision-making into economic analysis identifies situations, in which individuals systematically deviate from predictions of standard economic models based on rationality, with an intention to improve existing models and derive implications at the aggregate level. The main aim is to describe pricing behavior of firms from vantage point of behavioral economics and analyze how cognitive bias might contribute to an explanation of price rigidities with consequent formulation of implications for effectiveness of monetary policy at the aggregate level. Well-known concepts such as coordination failure, strategic complementarity, money illusion and many others will be subject to our attention. We will also discuss experimental economics as one of the methodological tools capable to explore psychological features of behavior of firms, followed by illustrative experimental macroeconomics case study.

Typologies of consumers on cultural routes
Based on research - a direct interview on 3 cultural routes–Camino de Santiago in Spain, the Trail of the Eagles' Nests in Poland and the Trail of Industrial Monuments in Poland, typologies of consumers on these routes, which were studied as specific sub-markets of cultural tourism, were prepared. The typology according to the psychographic criterion and the typology according to the ways of spending free time were created on the basis of cluster analysis, while the typology according to the purchase preferences and the level of consumption was created in a matrix way, referring to the cultural route chosen by the consumer and the time spent on this route.
Diversifying consumer behavior along cultural routes allows for the development of marketing strategies (ex. market segmentation) of enterprises operating on these markets and for a more complete satisfaction of the needs reported by consumers.
The classes will help to better understand the diverse needs of consumers on cultural routes, where consumer behavior differs from consumer behavior in the general tourist market due to the often specific needs related to traveling along the route.

Crowdfunding as new source of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises
Crowdfunding is a collective effort of many individuals who join a purpose led network putting in their resources to support business orientated efforts initiated by other people or organisations. The availability of applications and services offered by the web and the mobile phone has been a key factor in the growth of the industry. Usually done through or with the help of the Internet, individual projects and businesses are financed with small contributions from a large number of individuals, allowing innovators, entrepreneurs and business owners to utilise their social networks to raise capital.
Therefore, the aim of the lecture is to explore this relatively new but fast growing economic phenomenon in the world. At the beginning, the theoretical issues are discussed, including the pros and cons for both the investor and the entrepreneur. The procedure of crowdfunding is followed in detail and the development of the market is explored. In the end, the most important conclusions are presented.
